Philadelphia Eagles Fan Steals Disabled Veteran's Prosthetic Leg
In one of the more bizarre news stories from the weekend, a disabled veteran has been reunited with his prosthetic limb after the article was stolen outside Lincoln Financial Field on Sunday.
According to ABC 6 in Philadelphia, Sonny Forriest Jr. was singing outside the stadium when a young Eagles fan made off with his prosthetic leg.
Forriest told ABC the culprit was a woman in her 20s wearing Eagles gear. He said the theft occurred around 8: 30 p. m. after the visibly intoxicated suspect jumped in his lap and broke his microphone.
She said, 'I will pay you for it. ' I said, 'That's all right baby, go ahead and have a good time. ' And then she disappeared, " he said.
Forriest, a well-known Philadelphia busker, says the woman grabbed the prosthetic leg resting next to his wheelchair and ran off into the parking lot.
ABC reports that local transportation authorities recovered the leg around midnight on a subway train. Forriest retrieved the stolen article at South Detectives in South Philadelphia early Monday morning. Authorities have yet to find the woman responsible for the theft, but Forriest doesn't believe anyone should go to jail for the incident.
